Bruising and swelling is to be expected after treatment and is a normal part of the healing process. To help swelling go down you use Arnica and apply ice. Its important to avoid blood-thinning painkillers such as aspirin and ibuprofen as this can actually make the bruising worse. If you do need something to ease discomfort, opt for paracetamol.

A consultation is required before going ahead with any treatment. If you wish to book a complimentary consultation, we can arrange a virtual or face to face consultation.

Yes, if following your consultation both yourself and your practitioner are happy to proceed. We take a conservative approach and may divide treatments into sessions so sometimes we will recommend you to rebook and revisit the clinic at a later date. This will all be confirmed in your glow. aesthetic Treatment Plan with your practitioner.

Yes, you are able to travel after treatment. We recommend allowing 48 hours before flying.

ONE WEEK BEFORE

  • We recommend avoiding blood thinning medications, like Aspirin and Ibuprofen before treatments as these can increase your chances of bruising.
  • Avoid dental procedures or cleanings 2 weeks prior to your dermal filler treatment.

48 HOURS BEFORE

  • Avoid using anti-ageing skincare products containing, Retinol, Retinoid, Glycolic Acid, or other exfoliating agents.
  • Do not shave, wax, thread, pluck or use depilatory cream on the area to be treated.
  • If you are prone to bruising consider taking Arnica, this is not required however it could lessen your chance of bruising.

24 HOURS BEFORE

  • We recommend not drinking any alcoholic beverages 24 hours prior to treatment (and 24 hours after) to prevent bruising.

Lip enhancement treatments require minimal preparation. A week before your appointment, it is recommended to limit the use of blood-thinning or anti-inflammatory medications, as well as products containing aspirin. Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for 24 hours before and after the procedure. Ensure your lips are properly hydrated and gently exfoliate to remove any dead skin for the best results.

  • Arrive with your face washed, and without makeup – if you don’t have enough time to remove your makeup, we can do so for you.
  • Please have something to eat and drink prior to arriving so you are not on an empty stomach – we have water on hand in the clinic in case.
  • Relax and enjoy… You’re in very safe hands!
  • Whilst we’re here, let’s quickly discuss what you should do after your dermal filler treatment.

Immediately after getting fillers, you will be asked to follow the following aftercare:

  • Avoid any heat-inducing activities for 24 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and hot showers.
  • Avoid pressure on the area for the first 48 hours (no face-down massages).
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid active cosmeceutical products (AHAs, retinol, vitamin C) and oil-based makeup for 24 hours.
  • Avoid touching the face too to avoid infection.
  • Avoid facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL or laser treatments for 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Do not massage the treatment area unless instructed to do so.

Closely following these guidelines can help to ensure optimal results.

Treatments typically take between 30 minutes and 1 hour, occasionally up to 1.5 hours. Each session begins with a consultation to determine the most suitable technique based on your preferences and desired results, as not every lip enhancement or shaping method is suitable for every client.

The procedure can be slightly uncomfortable, as you may feel a stretching sensation in the tissues immediately after the product is applied. To minimize discomfort, we use a numbing cream before the treatment and work with products that contain additional anesthetic ingredients for a gentler experience.

During the first 24 hours after a lip enhancement or shaping procedure, you may experience:

  • Tenderness or mild pain, especially when touching your lips
  • Swelling
  • Firmness or small lumps – these are micro-swelling caused by the injections
  • A “strange” or unfamiliar feeling, as if your lips don’t quite feel like your own
  • Dryness

It’s important to know that these symptoms may intensify over time. Swelling can increase, and you may notice more firmness or small lumps. This is completely normal and a natural part of the healing process.

Proper aftercare is essential for achieving the best results. Here are our top tips for looking after your lips immediately following a lip enhancement or shaping procedure:

  • Avoid touching your lips during the first day. The injection sites are still healing, and touching them can increase the risk of infection.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not apply ice, as this can cause lumps to form.
  • Avoid intense physical activity for the first day.
  • Avoid irritating substances.
  • Stay hydrated to support healing.
  • Keep lips well-moisturized to aid recovery.
  • Do not massage your lips under any circumstances.

Following these steps will help ensure smooth, beautiful, and long-lasting results.

The longevity of results depends on the product used, lifestyle, habits, medications, and other factors. Generally, the treatment should be repeated every 6–12 months to maintain a long-lasting and satisfying effect.

Hyaluronic acid is a type of glycosaminoglycan that fills the spaces between cells. As a naturally occurring substance in the skin, it is generally well-tolerated by a healthy body and should not cause adverse reactions.

No, this is not possible. Hyaluronic acid syringes are pre-measured at 1 ml and are for single-use only. Each syringe must be used for one client only. Sharing the product between colleagues, friends, or family members is strictly prohibited.

While women are more likely to choose lip enhancement and shaping treatments, we also see male clients. Any adult in good health can enhance or shape their lips if they wish to do so.

Botox is a type A botulinum toxin complex that temporarily disrupts nerve-to-muscle signaling. This results in the smoothing or complete reduction of dynamic facial wrinkles, including those on the forehead, around the eyes (commonly known as crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (the “frown lines”).

Botox is also recommended for addressing wrinkles around the corners of the mouth, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), or teeth grinding (bruxism). Additionally, it can help improve a gummy smile, treat migraines, and alleviate symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

Botulinum toxin treatments should not be performed in the following cases:

  • Neuromuscular disorders, such as Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Cold or flu
  • Active infection at the injection site
  • Use of certain medications that affect the metabolism of botulinum toxin (e.g., aminoglycosides, cyclosporine, lincomycin, D-penicillamine, muscle relaxants)
  • Recent surgical procedures in the area where the treatment is planned

Not at all! Most Botox treatments, such as injections in the upper third of the face, bruxism treatment, or migraine relief, do not require anesthesia. The only exception is treating excessive sweating of the hands or feet, which requires a topical anesthetic cream beforehand.

The entire procedure takes approximately 15–20 minutes.

If Botox has been administered in the upper face area, avoid bending forward for 4 hours after the treatment. During the first 24 hours, we recommend using gentle cleansers, avoiding rubbing or massaging the treated area, and refraining from exfoliation or makeup. Additionally, avoid strenuous physical activity, sauna use, sun exposure, and alcohol consumption for 24 hours after the procedure.

The effects of Botulinum Toxin typically last between 3 to 6 months, depending on individual factors. In some cases, results can extend up to 8 to 9 months.

A full treatment in the same area should typically be performed no more than once every three months.
